A bit of history
In June, 17th 1231, the King of Aragon, Jaume I, and Abu Abd Allah Muhammad, “alfaquí” of Menorca, signed the rendition on Menorca island to the Aragon crown. This happened in a walled fortress situated in the northeast of Mallorca called Castle of Capdepera. It was a strategic point because from the castle you can clearly see the sister island of Menorca.
